New Members

Congratulations on your role at SFU! We are pleased to welcome you to the SFU community.

You are now a part of the Administrative and Professional Staff Association (APSA). Your rights as an employee are governed by APSA’s Basic Agreement and the AD 10 Policies, and you have a variety of member services available to you as part of your membership. You can also download the APSA PDF booklet with your terms and conditions of employment for reference. We:

  1. Negotiate your salary, benefits, pension and AD 10 policies. The AD 10 policies set out the terms and conditions of your employment, such as vacation, tuition waiver, and probation.
  2. Provide advocates to represent you when there are issues with your terms and conditions of employment or in the event a university policy has been breached or unfairly applied to you.
  3. Host professional development workshops and social events.

We will send you a welcome letter to join one of our orientation sessions. Please email us at x for the latest orientation dates.

Please note that we are currently holding APSA orientation sessions online. You are invited to contact x if you have questions about APSA, our work, your employment contract with SFU, or would like to set up a phone conversation.
